Nancy Annett, MBA, CHRL

Nancy Annett is a fun and engaging speaker, entrepreneur, professor, and coach. With over 25 years in the organizational development and human resources field, Nancy is a Certified Human Resource Leader who facilitates with enthusiasm, passion, and genuine excitement in all she does. She holds an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business and teaches in the Dan Management and Organizational Studies Program at the University of Western Ontario. Nancy is the Co-Founder of Flashpoint Training Inc, providing a creative outlet for her passion to create powerful teams, passionate employees and help organizations thrive.

Michelle Denniss, BPHE, BScMed

Michelle Denniss holds a Bachelor of Physical Education and has completed all Pre-Med Science courses from McMaster University. Michelle is a certified trainer in HSEP and tiered exercise program and Senior fitness from the University of Western Ontario, inter-professional collaboration, and supportive conversations. Michelle also holds a PHD from the School of Hard Knocks! Michelle operates on a philosophy that embraces challenges as a blessing for learning, an opportunity to prepare for something greater. She currently works in Recreation in Long Term Care and Community Stroke Rehabilitation for the County of Elgin. She served as Recreation Therapy Chair for the Ontario Stroke Network from 2008-2013 and has sat on the South West Ontario Stroke Network Advisory Board for Community and Long Term Care since 2008. Michelle aspires to be a professional “joyologist.” Laughter is the best medicine, but also the best recipe for success!

Deb Rogers, YCW, WTS

Deb Rogers is a creative technology teacher and app developer who lives somewhere between the Flintstones and the Jetsons. Her love of ancient civilizations and London Ontario is currently her focus as she develops apps about these topics for mobile devices. She has been recognized with provincial and municipal awards for her work. She has extensive background in adult education, college level program development, technology, human resources, and information systems. She holds a Youth Care Worker diploma as well as a Web Technology Specialist diploma. She has published one book and the second is on its way. She loves Jack Russel terriers.

Gina Kaslauskas, BSc, MBA

Gina Kaslauskas has worked in marketing in the healthcare sector for 15 years and is a professor at the Pilon School of Business. She has her Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Gina loves to teach and present and she is passionate about engaging learners and providing value and humour to those she is teaching.

Laurie Gunton  BA, CRTS

Laurie Gunton has worked in Customer Service and Sales for over 25 years in the printing industry and for Fortune 500 companies. Later, she became an entrepreneur by helping Seniors downsize (and was the previous owner of a successful gardening company). Laurie has the ability to earn respect and loyalty from those who speak with her. Some of her many attributes (listening skills, sense of humour, empathy, attention to detail, and compassion) lead to long – standing relationships with business partners, clients, and customers. Laurie keeps busy by coaching, volunteering, travelling, and working out at the gym.

Ingrid Brand, EdD

Ingrid Brand has a lifelong passion for developing human potential, building bridges across differences, and delivering measurable outcomes. Ingrid holds a master’s degree from the University of British Columbia and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development from the University of Minnesota. Ingrid has worked in the field of education for 20 years. She has worked as a higher education professional at universities in Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt. In addition, Ingrid taught at the University of Guelph-Humber. As a consultant, she facilitates highly interactive and engaging workshops. She is deeply committed to fostering global leadership development, intercultural understanding, diversity and inclusion, and organizational development.

Michael Yarde’s humble beginnings and passion for community have helped shape his career as a speaker and leadership coach. Growing up in Scarborough and educated in Communications at York University and Media Copywriting at Humber College, he has dedicated most of his life to understanding and exploring the intricacies and nuances of communication. Michael has successfully blended his corporate and creative skills as Director of Development for 105.5 FM CHRY and co-host for CIUT 89.5 FM’s “Take 5.” He has appeared on Rogers Television’s “Toronto Living” and reported for “Daytime Toronto.” As a writer Michael’s work has been featured in NOW Magazine, Biz Bash, and the official website for the Toronto International Film Festival. Presently residing in Toronto, Michael is moved to coach young entrepreneurs to be leaders and thrive.

Muriel Alexander is a seasoned communications expert with over 15 years of experience. Muriel’s professional involvement ranges from Event Production and Logistics, to Personal Development and Community Engagement. With her extensive background in public relations and leadership development, her diverse skill set has successfully led her to create and execute campaigns and activations for some of the world’s most well known brands, retailers, and international organizations. She is a strategic, tireless advocate for the brands and organizations that she partners with, and maintains that having fun is a critical component to achieve long term success and accomplishing goals.

Steven White, BCom

Steven White’s passions include relationships, the great outdoors, and leading and coaching teams to greatness. He has held senior roles in the financial sector including business strategy, sales leadership, project and program management, training and development, campus recruiting, and community volunteering. He has hired thousands of students into successful positions at a top Canadian financial services company. He possesses a wealth of experience working with young people preparing them for what comes after high school – be it work, career stream, skill development, or further education. Steven has developed and implemented national and local programs focused on better customer service, better career advancement, better business results, and better ways to get things done.

Jan Nace is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL designation) and has spent the past 16 years of her career with her designation applied to the healthcare industry. Prior to healthcare, her focus for 12 years was in the business sector. Jan is currently a professor at Fanshawe College within the department of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts teaching the discipline of Human Resources. In conjunction with that role she is also the Coordinator for the Retirement Residence Management program. In all of her positions, Jan likes to refer to her role as the GPS that provides the continuous direction, feedback, and guidance to encourage continuous learning, participant engagement, and future success.

Nancy Marchiotti, CDTP

Nancy Marchiotti has over 18 years of experience creating Psychological Assessments for C-Suite Executives, to partnering with Senior Executives as a Human Resources Business Partner, to designing, developing, and delivering Leadership Development Programs to employees, managers, and seniors. A passionate Learning & Development professional, she prides herself on helping others transform their teams & lives. Nancy is certified in several assessments and tools, such as DiSC, MBTI, FiRO-B, and ProSci. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from York University, and is also currently studying to obtain her Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation with The Institute for Performance and Learning. With her broad background in consulting, healthcare, media, publishing, retail, and technology, her diverse skills have allowed her to partner with billion-dollar enterprises, as well as small up & coming firms, with one common goal: Learners Today = Leaders Tomorrow.

Jill Palmer, CFRE

Jill Palmer has spent her career in the charitable sector, providing fundraising, marketing, advertising, communications, and advocacy services as well as HR development, training, and executive search. Jill holds a BA in English Literature and Political Science from McGill University, an Honours Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University and the CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) professional designation. She recently completed the Psychology of Leadership certificate through e-Cornell University, as her quest for learning continues and she turns her attention to supporting youth and adults in skill development. Jill has volunteered in organizations that supports the mental and physical health of adults, youths, and children. She is known to facilitate with fun and professionalism – participants often cite they have learned more in her sessions than in many others they’ve attended.

Mahal Hudson

Mahal Hudson is a professionally trained Co-Active Coach. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioural Science and masters studies in Clinical Psychology. She’s worked in diverse, multicultural teams for 22 years. She extensively works with the developmental services sector (children, youth, and adults with intellectual disability and their families) who require complex care supports. She was also a Non-violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention Certified Trainer for direct support workers to effectively intervene during serious occurrences and crises. Her passion is about helping people. She understands a person’s struggles. It is through her personal victories in her career and being uprooted from a different continent that led her to create her possibilities. She found the courage to stand up, break down boundaries from inefficiency, and re-ignite the power within in leading change and success. Mahal was featured in several local publications within the Filipino community due to her radio hosting and TV program “Get Real with Mahal Hudson” including speaking to groups of Fil-Can youth about emerging leadership and entrepreneurship. Mahal is a writer in Kubo magazine and author of two books. Most importantly, she is a proud mom of twins.”

Michelle Anhang, BA, CPCC, ACC, is a Certified Leadership & Life Coach, who specializes in supporting individuals and families living with mental health challenges. Her customized practice draws from an academic background in psychology, as well as training in mindfulness and meditation, leadership skills, and co-active coaching techniques. Michelle also brings a wealth of knowledge from over 20 years of corporate experience holding management roles in the fields of finance and law. In addition to coaching, Michelle is a motivational speaker and facilitates workshops on topics that include personal empowerment, stress management, and developing a healthy mindset. Michelle holds a BA in Psychology and is a graduate of the CTI & Co-Active Leadership Program. Michelle is certified in Mental Health First Aid through MHCC and is trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Her experience of 20 years plus in Customer Service and Sales keeps our teachers happy and fosters supportive relationships with our industry partners. She has a Bachelor of Life Sciences (B.Sc) degree from McMaster University and a varied work history ranging from retail sales manager, mortgage sales agent, and Director of Sales. Amy Smith
Public Relations & Events Specialist

Amy Smith is responsible for building industry partner relationships, lead teacher relationship management, and dealing with all public relation needs including networking events across the boards. This includes thank yous to our partners and teachers/schools, and dealing with specific customer challenges. She comes to us with a background in hospitality management, and is an experienced manager within the food and beverages industry, currently a Manager at a top restaurant in Guelph. Her exceptional customer service skills assist us in building and maintaining relationships. She graduated from Georgian College with a passion for training employees and newcomers to the world of hospitality.
